Artist's Comments

A manipulation of [link] , done with permission from the original photographer.
A basic idea of what I was thinking. I used 1 layer for the gradient to block out the back, and a mask to keep Monique in the light. I also added a layer on top for the saturation. Lots of blurring and patching to try to hide the low-res and high JPEG compression. Done quickly to illustrate a point and hopefully to convey a little stronger of a message than the original snapshot.
Just some fun with the new techniques that I've learned. Critique welcome, blast my manip to bits, but leave the beautiful model and photographer alone =P

I like the fact that all the glare from the flash is gone...gives it a more serene, lonely look

Gets rid of that cheap-o flash look, doesn't it?
Adds a sense of a studio setup.
